There are 2 types of products on Icon Games webstore: downloadable games and games with serial keys.

When you by a downloadable games, after the payment is cleared, you will have available at the store a link to download the complete version of the game on your computer.

If you bought a seria key, after the purchase is done, on the webstore you'll see a serial number that must be typed on the game trial version to convert it to the full version. For details of where to type this number, please check the game manual.

Payments

Payments can be done in two ways:

The first one is through the Share*it! system, a well stablished payment processor, which will handle all the payment details.

The second one is directly from our webstore, using Paypal as the payment method.

On both methods, you can be sure we won't retain any payment information, and the payment process is secure.

Commitment

Icon Games publicly commits: no data will be shared, under no circunstances, unless required by law.
No e-mail will be sent (spam) to the registered accounts, and none of our games has any kind of virus, spyware, toolbar or hidden program installed.

Installation

To properly install the game on your operational system, maybe it will be necessary for you to have administrator access on your machine. Check your OS documentation for further informations.

Some known problems:

During tests, some video cards presents problems due to driver incompatibility. Check the card manufacturer website to obtain the latest 3d drivers for your hardware.

Direct-X

If you try to run a game that needs Direct-X without having it installed, the program won't work. Checks the help file of your game which version of Direct-X is required.

Note: If you already have the same version (or superior) of Direct-X installed, you don't have to reinstall it. To install Direct-X, access this link

It's recommended that you run the game with video and sound cards compatible with Direct-X. Although there are chances the game can run with uncompatible hardware, the following can happen:

  • the sound quality may be bad
  • the game may run slower than normal
  • the game may not run
  • the game may run with video problems or artifacts.

If your video or sound card don't support Direct-X, please contact your computer support.

Improving game performance

There are several ways to improve your game experience:

  • Reduce game resolution on video options screen - this allows the user to reduce the game graphical resolution in order to obtain a better performance.
  • Ensure that Hardware Acceleration is set to the maximum level. This setting is located in the System Control Panel in Windows 95/98/ME, and in the advanced Display Control Panel in Windows 2000/XP.
  • Be sure that no other program is running on background like virus scanners, firewalls, etc.
  • On Intel boards, make sure that in "3D Settings", the option "Depth Buffer" is set to 24 bits.
  • Check if you have enought video memory and RAM memory to run the game.

Note: In general computers with onboard video and newtwork (shared or integrated into the motherboard) do not perform well enough to run 3D games. In that case the minimum configuration required may not be enough to execute the game.

Online gaming

Multi-player games
If you want to play multi-player games over the internet, is recommended that you first make the connection, to only then start the game.

Call waiting
We recommend call waiting to be disabled, it can cause some problems during modem games. Specifically, call waiting can disrupt modem games already in Note: It's recommended to deactivate the firewall during online games, or at least allow the program to access the internet. If the program is interrupted by the firewall or other programs, the game may crash.

  • Ammount of RAM
  • Sound Card Type And Settings (Address, IRQ, DMA)
  • Video Card and memory

Please do not send files attached by email, unless asked to. Messages with attached files, without the game title and basic details about the computer and the problem found will not be analized. If the program has a serial number, you must include it on the email in order for it to be processed.
